St. Clair R-XIII Getting Another New Principal
Larrinda Witt, assistant principal at St. Clair R-XIII's Edgar Murray Elementary School, has been promoted to principal.
The announcement came earlier this week. Murray staff was told on Wednesday.
Witt will take over for current Principal Kent Sherrow, who resigned to become the principal at Hermann High School, which is in his home town. Witt officially will begin her duties on July 1.
She becomes the second new building principal in the R-XIII school district in as many months. Earlier this year, the board of education promoted St. Clair High School Assistant Principal Michael Hunter to principal after current SCHS boss Kevin Hillman resigned.
Hillman will be the new superintendent of the South Callaway School District, which is closer to his extended family.
Also this summer, St. CLair Junior High School Assistant Principal Jeff Hamlett will move to SCHS and become the assistant principal there. The district currently is interviewing candidates to replace Hamlett at SCJHS and soon will do the same for the No. 2 job at Edgar Murray.
