Pacific police identified the man who was struck and killed by an Amtrak passenger train Wednesday night as Zachary T. Brady, 20.

Police reported that Brady was walking on the tracks east of Fourth Street shortly before 9 p.m. when he was struck by the eastbound train heading to St. Louis from Kansas City.

According to reports, the man was returning from his job at a fast-food restaurant when the accident occurred about 8:50 p.m., police said.

The train, which was scheduled to arrive in St. Louis at 9:40 p.m., was delayed about two hours as police investigated the incident.

The victim’s body was taken to the St. Louis County Morgue by the medical examiner’s office, according to Police Chief Matt Mansell.

Mansell said the victim lived three blocks from the scene of the accident.

No one on the train was injured.
