The Missourian Publishing Co. has acquired Paper Chase Printing, a longtime Washington business.

As of Dec. 1, 2017, Paper Chase Printing will operate as a division of  Missourian Media Group.

Paper Chase’s Signs and Screen Printing divisions were not part of the merger, and will continue to operate separately under the Signs360 name. Those divisions will remain at their current location at 3 Chamber Drive, with Jeff and Marina Mohesky still as owners.

Paper Chase Printing will operate out of The Missourian’s plant on Bluff Road and its key employees have transferred to that location.

Paper Chase was established in 1992 by the Moheskys, who initially operated out of their garage. The operation then was moved to the West Fifth Street location for 12 years and then expanded to a larger building on Grand Avenue. Due to growth, the business was moved to the Town and Country Industrial Park off of Route A several years ago.

“Due to the growth we have seen over the past 25 years, this merger is the next logical step to meet the demands of our customers,”  Jeff Mohesky said. “Our two companies have had a working relationship for some time.”

“We’ve had a good relationship with Paper Chase over the years, and we have worked well  together in seving the needs of our clients,” Stephen Trentmann, sales manager for The Missourian’s commercial printing business, said. He added that The Missourian looks forward to serving Paper Chase’s clients. The Missourian’s printing operation includes both offset sheet-fed and web operations. With the merger, it has moved into digital printing also.

For the past 80 years, The Missourian has been owned and operated by members of the late James. L. Miller, Sr., family. Bill Miller, Sr., is president of the company.
