More than 200 companies have registered for State Technical College of Missouri’s annual Career Expo Wednesday, Feb. 13, from 9 a.m. to noon.
State Technical officials said they have a 98 percent job placement rate for students and events like this one are a big reason why.
“This will be another record-breaking year for us,” said Shannon Grus, vice president of advancement.
“We’ve never had this many employers on campus at one time for a career expo,” she noted. “We also are extremely pleased with the number of sponsors we have this year, in fact we nearly doubled last year’s total.”
Grus said these employers have numerous job openings available for State Tech graduates ranging from internships, to entry and advanced level career opportunities.
“This also is an excellent opportunity for alumni of the college to come back to campus and visit with these employers if they are looking to advance their career,” she said.
The college offers free lifetime career services to all alumni.
Alumni are encouraged to sign up for an account on HireEagles. Available 24 hours a day, seven days a week, this online system allows alumni to create and manage a personal account.
Users can search jobs by major and receive notifications for new job opportunities.
The expo will be held in the State Tech Activity Center and the Osage County Community Center.
