A new spa is set to open in Washington soon.

Washington Green Spa & Wellness will celebrate its opening day Monday, Nov. 27.

Owned by Regina and David Close, the new spa is located at 1713 Madison Ave., Suite 110, in the State Farm building.

Regina Close said she has been a massage therapist for 10 years, nine in the Washington area. She said her business has grown enough to bring on a second person and move to a bigger location.

“We were looking to expand and offer a little more in a relaxing environment,” she said. “I had rented a room at a salon for the last nine years so this is the first time we’ve expanded and have multiple rooms.”

Close said she hopes the spa is known for its avoidance of toxins.

“We are a green spa so we are going to focus to try and make everything as organic and toxin-free as possible,” she said. “In the past I’ve worked with cancer patients and cancer survivors, and really just people in general who are trying to better their lifestyle and do things on a healthy level. Right now, I’m known for massage, but I really want to encompass the whole wellness aspect of it.”

Washington Green Spa & Wellness will offer therapeutic massage, Chinese cupping massage, a signature sticks and stones massage and organic airbrush tanning initially. Close said the space is suited to future expansion if the business grows.

“We hope to grow our services in the future and offer an esthetician, yoga and other educational classes to the community,” she said.

Prior to the official opening, visitors can tour the facility Friday, Nov. 24, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The tour will allow people to make appointments for future sessions.

Washington Green Spa & Wellness will be open Monday to Friday from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
