The Hermann Wurst Haus won nine prestigious awards for its artisan, handcrafted smoked sausages and smoked meats at the Missouri Association of Meat Processors 79th annual convention in Branson Saturday, Feb. 3.

The MAMP convention, one of the largest meat processor events in the United Sates, represents over 115 meat processors of all sizes.

Attendees attend seminars, a 75-booth trade show and a sausage, ham, bacon competition to select the “Best of the Wurst.”

Entries are judged by a panel of academia, professional sausage makers and grad students.

The Hermann Wurst Haus received nine awards, including grand champion for Venison Soppressata; reserve grand champion for Summer Sausage, Sweet German Bologna, Smoked Pork Chop and Smoked Pork Sausage; champion for Fresh Bratwurst, German Bologna, Venison Finocchiona and Ring Bologna.
