Bob Marquart, along with the board of directors of Heritage Community Bank, announce the promotion of Laurie A. Benz to vice president, and the addition of a new information technology specialist, Danny A. Taylor.

Benz joined Heritage Community Bank in May 2013.

“Laurie has shown a lot of loyalty, strength and dedication during her time with Heritage Community Bank,” said Marquart. “She has a strong operational background which has been a key factor in the success of the ongoing growth of our bank.”

Benz is a graduate of Washington High School and graduated from SMSU with a degree in business management with a minor in marketing.

She brings 26 years of banking experience. Over the years she has worked as a teller, credit analyst, head of bookkeeping, loan administration and operations, and is currently the branch manager at the Marthasville location.

“Laurie is very deserving of this promotion,” said Marquart. “We are proud of her accomplishments”.

Benz enjoys spending time with family, golfing, fishing and crocheting. She currently resides in Marthasville with her husband Michael Benz and son Nathan Kleekamp.

IT Specialist

Taylor has joined the bank as information technology specialist. He has been in the IT industry for eight years, and joined Heritage Community Bank in January.

“We are excited to have Danny on board,” said Marquart. “With the changes in technology and cyber security, this is an important issue in the financial industry. It’s reassuring to have someone focused on ongoing monitoring of all bank information.”

Taylor is a graduate of Washington High School and graduated from Central Methodist University with a bachelor’s degree in business administration and a minor in computer science.

“Even in his short time with Heritage Community Bank, Danny has attended training and has recently received his certification as a CBSM — certified banking security manager,” said Marquart. “We are proud of Danny and are looking for great things from him.”

In his spare time, Taylor enjoys hunting, fishing, basketball and baseball. He and his fiancée Riley will be married next year and will reside in Augusta.
