After more than six months of building renovations, Washington Smiles Complete Health Dentistry is now open at its new location, 1111 E. Sixth St.
The dental practice previously had two separate locations, Washington Smiles and Washington Square Dental, both located in Washington.
“We had grown to the point where we needed more space, both in team members and in patients,” said Dr. Melissa Smith, owner.
The new building, formerly used as a surgery center, was completely gutted and renovated to fit the practice’s needs.
Smith credits her husband and project manager, Lance Smith, with the successful renovation.
She said the “cutting edge dental office” now has “the latest and greatest” equipment.
“Our philosophy is that great health begins with a healthy smile,” she said. “If your mouth isn’t healthy, then the rest of your body isn’t healthy.”
Four dentists practice at the facility, including Smith. Others are Dr. Michael Frede, Dr. Aruna Astuto and Dr. John Boain.
In addition to the new building, the dentists also offer services that weren’t being offered before such as root canal and implants.
The practice also will offer “Carries ID” a risk assessment for those who, despite proper brushing and flossing, still have tooth decay.
The assessment screens for aggressive bacteria, Smith explained, adding that once the screening is done, a series of rinses and toothpastes will help combat the tooth decay.
“We’re making it a mission to lower tooth decay,” she said.
An open house at the new office will be held this Saturday, Dec. 7, from noon to 4 p.m.
All are welcome to see the new office and meet the doctors.
The event will feature tours, special pricing and giveaways.
