Washington will soon be home to a new Five Below store, according to Joe Vernaci, Phoenix Center developer.
The store will fill the space that previously housed Shoe Carnival in the Phoenix Center shopping center off Highway 100, at 1946 Charlotte’s Way.
Shoe Carnival moved to Phoenix Center II for additional space, Vernaci said.
To fill Five Below’s needs, Vernaci said an additional 1,000 square feet is being added to the building. The building will be a total of 8,000 square feet after the renovation.
“The interior of the building has been gutted and is almost complete,” he said, adding that crews should be finished at the site in one week.
Five Below offers “trend-right, extreme-value merchandise to the teen and pre-teen market,” according to its website. All products are $1 to $5.
Its assortment of merchandise includes everything from sporting goods, games, fashion accessories and jewelry — to hobbies and collectibles, bath and body, candy and snacks, room decor and storage, stationery and school supplies, video game accessories, books, DVDs, cellphone accessories, novelty and seasonal items.
Representatives from Five Below did not return calls prior to press time.
