Mercy is taking the distance out of medical care for the residents of the Hermann region by bringing more doctors to the area.

“Mercy Clinic Hermann has added an orthopedic surgeon and pulmonologist,” said David Chalk, MD, president of Mercy Clinic. “There will be more specialists and family physicians to come, making it easier for more patients to get the medical care they need closer to home.”

Patients are already seeing family physicians James Grimes, MD, and Kristin Weidle, MD, and Sarah Bloch, a certified nurse practitioner, at Mercy Clinic Family Medicine Hermann, 2066 Village Lane. Mercy Clinic specialists seeing patients at Hermann Area District Hospital at 509 West 18th St. are:

William Harris, DO, a board certified orthopedic surgeon and member of Mercy Clinic Surgical Specialists. Dr. Harris offers full orthopedic services in Hermann from office examinations and procedures to orthopedic surgeries. For more information, call 636-861-7870.

John Mohart, MD, a board certified cardiologist with Mercy Heart and Vascular. Dr. Mohart has been seeing patients in Hermann for almost six years. He offers consultations and follow-up care in Hermann as well as echocardiograms and vascular studies. For more information, call 636-239-2711.

Umer Siddiqui, MD, a pulmonologist with Mercy Clinic Pulmonology and Sleep Medicine. Dr. Siddiqui is board certified in internal medicine. He treats health issues such as chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), sleep apnea and asthma. For more information, call 636-239-8832.

Drs. Harris, Mohart and Siddiqui also see patients at Mercy Clinics in Washington. Because Mercy and Hermann Area District Hospital are affiliated hospitals, many tests and surgical procedures are available to patients at Hermann Area District Hospital.

The affiliation allows more Mercy Clinic physicians in Hermann and for the rapid transfer of critically ill patients to Mercy Hospital Washington, the only Level III Trauma Center between St. Louis and Jefferson City. Other aspects of the partnership include consulting services, staff training and development and access to programs such as telemedicine.
