The National Alliance for Insurance Education and Research has announced that Stacey C. Briggs, CISR, of Washington, is the 2013 Outstanding CSR of the Year recipient for the state of Missouri.

To qualify for this top state honor, Briggs submitted the winning essay on a topic regarding business communication barriers faced by customer service representatives and how they can be overcome.

Additionally, Briggs was selected for having demonstrated outstanding service and professionalism within the insurance community.

She began her insurance career in November 2000 when she obtained her property/casualty insurance license. Over the years, she gained valuable business insurance experience and knowledge by working in the commercial divisions of several large independent agencies in the St. Louis area.

Briggs received her Certified Insurance Service Representative (CISR) Designation in June 2002 after completing the five-part program within one year of starting it.

In 2011, she obtained her Life/Health Insurance License and enhanced her professional profile by quoting and selling personal lines of insurance.

Currently, Briggs works for the Dan Yoest Insurance Agency in Washington as a Commercial Lines CSR/agent.

Briggs was chosen as a state winner for “exemplifying the characteristics and qualifications required to be eligible for the prestigious National Outstanding CSR of the Year award, according to Dr. William T. Hold, Ph.D., CIC, CPCU, CLU, and president of the National Alliance.

“She represents the backbone of the insurance community, those customer service representatives distinguished for providing exceptional service on a daily basis.”

All state award recipients receive a framed certificate, embossed with the special Outstanding CSR of the Year bronze medallion symbol, and are one of 49 individuals eligible for the national honor.

The National Outstanding CSR of the Year Award carries a $2,000 cash prize and a scholarship for the recipient’s employer to any program offered by The National Alliance.

The national winner also receives a distinctive gold and diamond lapel pin cast with Outstanding CSR of the Year emblem. Additionally, the winner’s name will be inscribed on a sculpture permanently displayed at the national headquarters in Austin, Texas.

Briggs lives in Washington with her husband Scott, a detective with the Franklin County Sheriff’s Department, and their two children.
