Clean Up Day

Volunteers at a prior Clean up Day spread mulch.

Downtown Washington Inc. has rescheduled its Clean Up Day to Saturday, June 29.

Rain showers forced the cancellation of the “Keep Washington Beautiful” cleanup last month.

Volunteers are being sought to help that day.

“We will be working on landscaping, trash pickup, weeding and light maintenance projects,” said Danielle Grotewiel with Downtown Washington Inc.

All volunteers will receive a free T-shirt, while supples last, donated by the Bank of Washington.

Lunch will be provided free of charged by the Washington Lions Club at the riverfront.

This the fourth year for the cleanup.

Volunteers should meet at the downtown post office at Second and Lafayette streets.

Grotewiel said children are welcome with adult supervision.

“We hope the volunteers who signed up before can come on June 29 and we can always use more help,” she said.
