Parker Hannifin, Sporlan Division in Washington, has unveiled CHILLSKILLS Sporlan Online Training, a training website specially designed by Sporlan sales engineers for training customers with self-paced online modules to help them understand products and the HVAC/R industry.

Sporlan has always taken pride in its training program, officials said, and CHILLSKILLS is an evolution that has taken shape to reach a broader audience.

The course initially available has comprehensive information on TEVs, refrigerant distributors and the level master control.

Other modules available on the site are:

• What is a Thermostatic Expansion Valve?

• How to use a PT Chart;

• How to Identify a Thermostatic Expansion Valve;

• How to Assemble a Q/BQ Valve;

• What is a Solenoid Valve?

“Wholesalers and technicians are challenged to stay up-to-date with the skills necessary to accurately diagnose and troubleshoot today’s air-conditioning and refrigeration equipment,” said Tim Schamel, Sporlan Division marketing manager.

“The CHILLSKILLS online portal provides an on demand method to gain the information and education that is needed,” he said. “The work can be done at a time that is convenient for them and at their own pace.”

Customers can access CHILLSKILLS by clicking on the link sporlantraining.com or a link on sporlanonline.com. They can then reate a profile, and click on the link in the corresponding email to verify their account.

Then, they choose the course they would like to take, and use the first word of the course title as the enrollment key (i.e. wholesaler, thermostatic, solenoid).

With annual sales of $13 billion in fiscal year 2013, Parker Hannifin is the world’s leading diversified manufacturer of motion and control technologies and systems, providing precision-engineered solutions for a wide variety of mobile, industrial and aerospace markets.

The company employs approximately 58,000 people in 49 countries around the world.

Parker has increased its annual dividends paid to shareholders for 57 consecutive fiscal years, among the top five longest-running dividend-increase records in the S&P 500 index.
