With a promise of fast, friendly service, Washington native Andrew Standridge has opened Sonnys Pizza at 3021 Highway A in Krakow.

The closing of another pizza restaurant left the building vacant, with all the needed equipment, Standridge said.

“I love the feeling of serving the customers,” he said. “(Opening the business) was an opportunity I couldn’t pass up.”

Standridge offers thin-crust pizza only and carryout service, no deliveries. Wings, garlic bread and refreshments also are on the menu.

The idea is to start small and build the business slowly, he said.

In the future, Standridge hopes to offer hand-tossed crust and toasted ravioli, as well as delivery service.

Sonnys’ motto is “Home of the 2-Pizza Deal.” Customers can get two 12-inch pizzas for $12.99 or two 14-inch pizzas for $16.99. The deal is good all day, every day, he said.

Standridge isn’t new to the pizza business. In fact, he’s worked in the industry for the past five years. He said it has always been a goal to open his own pizza business.

“I look forward to serving people the rest of 2013 and for years to come,” he said. “People can always expect a smile.”

Specials can be found online by searching “Sonnys Pizza” on Facebook.

Hours are Mondays through Thursdays from 4 to 8 p.m. and Fridays through Sundays from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. The business can be reached at 636-239-7755.

Standridge lives in Washington with his fiancee, Rose Niederhelm, and their daughter Lillian, who is six months old.
