The Home Builders Association (HBA) recently welcomed Chris Ragland as the HBA’s 2014 president.

Ragland is the daughter of Willard Luecker of the Washington/New Haven area.

She is a Washington High School and University of Missouri-Columbia graduate.

Ragland is the HBA’s 69th board leader.

“For the past decade we have had good times, uncertain times, cautious times and now improvind times for the building industry and association,” Ragland said. “All the while our HBA has continue its good work in governmental affairs, educational programs, market information to our members and networking between builders and associates during these trying times.”

Ragland is the co-owner of Homes by Chris, LLC, a Liberty-based business she started with her husband Roy in 2003.

She also has worked professionally in business promotions and public relations for Sealright Packaging and in scientific communications for Aventis Pharmaceuticals.

Since becoming an HBA member in 2004, Ragland has volunteered on a range of committees including nominating, govermental affairs, bylaws, and as chair of the North Area Council. She has served on the board of directors and on the executive committee as secretary/treasurer and vice president.
