For the second consecutive year, Legal Services of Eastern Missouri’s (LSEM) Holly Yoakum has been named a Rising Star Super Lawyer for 2014.
Yoakum, a staff attorney in LSEM’s Union office, handles family law cases.
She also was honored as a Rising Star in 2013 and was the only lawyer in the Legal Aid category from Missouri recognized.
Super Lawyers is a rating services of outstanding lawyers from more than 70 practice areas who have attained a high degree of peer recognition and professional achievement. The selection process is multi-phased and includes independent research, peer nominations and peer evaluations.
Yoakum joined LSEM in 2009. She also serves on the Young Friends of Legal Services of Eastern Missouri Board, and is a member of the Franklin and Lincoln County bar associations and a founding member of the St. Louis Sports Commission Associates.
Yoakum received her Bachelor of Arts degree in journalism and French from Butler University in Indianapolis and her JD from Indiana University. She was admitted into The Missouri Bar in 2006 and the Illinois Bar in 2007.
She lives in Crestwood.

In 2013, LSEM helped nearly 15,000 people (including clients and their household members) in 21 counties of eastern Missouri.
