Aerofil Technology Inc. (ATI), an industry leader in lean aerosol and liquid contract packaging, announced the completion of its new high-speed aerosol production line in Sullivan.
To support the new production line, Aerofil purchased a 30,000-square-foot warehouse that sits directly across the street from its existing facility. The new line and warehouse will create hundreds of jobs in the area.
ATI will host a ribbon cutting ceremony at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 21, to commission Aerosol Line 7.
In addition to ATI’s customers and suppliers, the company will welcome State Rep. Dave Hinson, State Sen. Dave Schatz, Deputy Director Brendan Fahey, representing U.S. Sen. Claire McCaskill, and Deputy Director Jim McNichols, representing U.S. Congressman Blaine Luetkemeyer.
“Another series of exciting significant financial investments demonstrating our long-term commitment to our employees, the city of Sullivan and surrounding communities, and most importantly to our customers,” stated Pat Bergin, president of ATI.
“Our Chairman Robert Dunaway’s vision has dramatically changed the way we operate our business by empowering our employees to drive real and sustainable improvements every single day which continues to be one of the true keys to our unprecedented growth and financial success,” Bergin said.
A five-year, quarter of a billion dollar contract was the catalyst for the new high-speed production line and warehouse.
The expansion has led to an immediate hiring opportunity for nearly 50 hourly employees, with an additional 50 positions to come on board as additional shifts are added during the ramp-up phase of production.
As part of its strategic growth plan, ATI also announces the purchase of two additional high-speed aerosol production lines, which will be commissioned in early 2017.
Aerosol Lines 8 and 9 will create an additional 100 positions, bringing the ATI workforce to well over 600. In 2017, ATI will have nine aerosol packaging lines, three liquid packaging lines, and 560,000 square feet of workspace.
Aerofil Technology Inc. (ATI) began in Sullivan in 1988. It has been serving customers around the globe under the same ownership for nearly three decades.
In 1988, ATI began with two aerosol lines and less than 50,000 square feet of space. Now, its state-of-the-art facility includes 10 production lines for aerosol and liquid filling, a 2,500-square-foot Technical Center, 430,000 square feet of workspace, and over 500 employees.
