A Hermann man was killed in a two-car crash Wednesday afternoon on Highway 100 west of Washington.

Traffic was diverted for several hours following the crash.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Timothy E. Dineen, 69, Hermann, was pronounced dead on the scene at 3:53 p.m.

The crash report says Dineen was driving a 1999 Lincoln Continental heading eastbound on Highway 100 west of Bluff Road. The Highway Patrol said the car crossed the center line and struck a second car head on.

Paula H. Gleitz, 63, New Haven, the driver of the second car, a 2009 Nissan Pathfinder, was airlifted to Mercy Medical Hospital in Creve Coeur. Her injuries were classified as serious by the Highway Patrol.

The crash occurred at about 3:38 p.m. Both vehicles were totaled in the crash.
