Officials have forecast that flood waters from the Missouri river may cover the Augusta Bottom road by Sunday, and also sections of Highway 47 in southern Warren county, in the Dutzow area.
FEMA and state and county officials are monitoring water levels to prepare for an evacuation of the Washington Airport if necessary. Officials are also watching creeks and other tributaries for flooding problems.
Gov. Nixon declared a state of emergency in Missouri Friday evening.
A fierce storm with 60-mile winds and inch-size hail blew through Franklin county early Friday evening. There are reports of limbs down and other minor damage throughout Franklin county. Southern Franklin county was hit the hardest.
