Students in third through 12th grade are invited to participate in the annual Americanism essay contest sponsored by the Unit 218 American Legion Auxiliary. This annual contest encourages participants to learn about their government and the fundamental rights and freedoms Americans enjoy today.
The essay theme for 2018 is “What can I personally do to promote Americanism in my school or community?”

Contest rules/requirements must be followed to be considered for judging.
The contest deadline is Feb. 16.

Essays also may be dropped in the back door of the American Legion Post Home at the above address. The envelope should be marked to the attention of the Americanism Essay Contest.
