This month, Laclede Gas will change its name to Spire while redefining what it means to serve homes and businesses across the region.
Starting Sept. 25, the company’s service and construction employees will wear orange uniforms as they work in homes and along streets across the area.
Residents will already see some trucks on the road with the orange Spire logo now. The fleet transition started at the beginning of September and runs through mid-October.
Residents also will see inserts in their billing statements, television, digital and outdoor advertising announcing the change.
Becoming Spire is part of a larger change for Spire’s five natural gas utilities across Alabama, Mississippi and Missouri. These utilities are part of the nation’s fifth largest publicly traded natural gas company.
Spire officials said they are reaching out to help inform the public that the same dedicated team they’ve known and trusted for more than 150 years hasn’t changed, but the uniforms and trucks will.
The new name reflects the company’s renewed commitment to service, savings and support, officials said.
New technology and options like a mobile-friendly website make it easier for customers to get in touch and manage accounts on the go. Charitable giving and volunteer initiatives from Spire and its employees support hundreds of activities that make a difference in people’s lives.
