Hope Restored, a new support group for grieving mothers, meets the first Saturday of each month at 9 a.m. at Experience Church, 1925 Bedford Center Drive, Washington. The next meeting is scheduled for Jan. 6.
The group is a ministry of the church started by Lisa Weddle, Union, who has lost two children of her own.
“It’s a ministry that I started to connect with other mothers who have lost children,” said Weddle.
All grieving mothers are welcome to attend. Meetings are informal, with mothers using the time to connect with each other by talking and sharing what they chose to.
“From my experience, it’s hard for many different reasons to want to just talk about it. The death of a child is a really hard thing to speak about. You are bringing up memories,” said Weddle.
“I understand the pain and the brokenness that these mothers are going through, but I also understand what it is to allow God to restore the peace and give you hope again,” she added.
Mothers who have lost children of any age at any time are welcome to attend. There is no registration.
