Union Fire Protection District will be hosting informational meetings open to the public to explain the upcoming ballot issue known as “Proposition Fire.”

Proposition Fire is a property tax increase to address the growing need of the community for fire district services.

The first meeting will be Thursday, Oct. 4, at 7 p.m. at the Franklin County Government Center Training Room.

A second talk will be Monday, Oct. 15, at 7 p.m. at the East Central College Culinary Arts Building.

Fire district officials are encouraging residents to attend and receive information explaining the need for additional firefighters to staff fire station No. 3 and the need to replace future fire apparatus and equipment.
