The Washington Senior Center will hold an open house Sunday, July 14, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. to celebrate its eighth anniversary at its current location, 1459 W. Fifth St. in the lower level of the Washington Elks Hall.

The public is invited to tour the senior center to see how it has grown and what it has to offer. There will be demonstrations and exhibits of some of the center’s most popular activities, including painting, exercise, quilting and more.

There also will be a drawing to win tickets to the 2013 Washington Town and Country Fair, Aug. 7-11.

In addition to serving lunch weekdays from 11:45 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. for a suggested donation of $3.25 (for seniors age 60 and older), the senior center offers many activities, like dancing, card and dice games, blood pressure and blood sugar checks, arthritis exercise class, manicures and pedicures, yoga, quilting, art and computer class.
