The Washington Senior Center will hold a Father’s Day celebration Thursday, June 13. The theme is cars.

The Washington Senior Center, located in the lower level of the Washington Elks Hall, 1459 W. Fifth St., is open to anyone ages 60 and over.

An outdoor showcase of vintage cars owned by local residents begins at 9 a.m. Indoor activities, including a Matchbox derby, wet T-shirt contest and cone game, get under way at 10 a.m.

This will be a mind-challenging day for male and female car enthusiasts, as well as anyone wanting to enjoy the day. There also will be raffles and prizes for game winners.

Lunch will be served from 11:45 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Reservations are due by noon on June 10. Call 636-239-3374.

The meal will be a barbecue, sponsored by the Washington Senior Center Liassion Committee.

A raffle is being held to benefit the Washington Senior Center’s Meals on Wheels program for home-bound residents. Two winners will receive a set of 12 steaks.

A second raffle is being held to support the Washington Senior Center’s Support Committee, which provides entertainment events at the senior center. One winner will receive a package of car deals, such as oil changes and gas cards.

Drawings for both raffles will be held at the Father’s Day Celebration. Tickets for both raffles are available now until the event. They can be purchased at the Washington Senior Center or through staff or Support Committee members.

Anyone wanting to showcase a car at the event should call Judy at 636-388-3873 or email her at
