Meghan McCarthy will headline the 8th annual Run to Read on Saturday, Oct. 12. The event, organized by The Missourian and the YMCA, will begin at 8 a.m. at the Washington Public Library.
The 5K run, 1-mile book walk, and Baby Buzz Dash offers a beautiful fall morning of fitness followed by a presentation by the four-time Book Buzz author.
Hundreds of hardback books released in the past year will go home with participants, who each choose at title from the selection of child, teen and adult books.
Registration is just $10 and everyone who signs up by Sept. 29 also will receive a free T-shirt. All ages may upgrade to Dri-Fit shirts this year for $10.

Everyone is invited to meet Meghan McCarthy at 9 a.m. in the library's meeting room. No registration is required to attend the author presentation. (Librarians, bring your past McCarthy-penned Picks and have them signed!)
