The Bee slated for April 20

The Missourian's third annual regional spelling competition, The Bee, will be held Saturday, April 20, at East Central College.

This year's event is being presented by hth companies, inc.

Registration information was mailed last week to school spelling bee coordinators in eligible schools. A copy of the registration form also may be downloaded here. The deadline to register a school to participate is Nov. 1.

Students in grades 4-8 are eligible to participate. Each school may send one student designated as the school’s spelling bee champion.

Home school organizations representing a minimum of 31 children are eligible to send a spelling champion to participate in The Bee in 2013.
