Quilt expert and author Ann Hazelwood of St. Charles will be in Washington Saturday, Aug. 26, from 1-3 p.m. for a book signing at Neighborhood Reads Bookstore.

Hazelwood has written dozens of books, including two fiction series. Every novel in the series have a quilt that connects to the story of mystery, romance and close friendships.

Hazelwood’s most recent fiction series takes place in the rolling hills of East Perry County. “The Forgiving Quilt” is the first in the series and debuted in 2016. Other books in the series include “Everlasting Quilts,” “Quilt the Town Christmas” and “Josephine’s Guest House Quilt.” The final book in the series, “Church Ladies’ Quilts,” releases in October.

Her first series, Cole-bridge Community, includes “The Basement Quilt,” “The Potting Shed Quilt,” “The Funeral Parlor Quilt,” “The Jane Austen Quilt Club,” “The Ghostly Quilts on Main,” “Quilted Lilies,” and “A Colebridge Quilted Christmas.”

Hazelwood is an AQS certified quilt appraiser and president of the National Quilt Museum. She lectures on quilt-related topics and has exhibited her red and white quilt collection in the National Quilt Museum. She also is the textile appraiser for the Antique Road Show in the St. Louis region.

For almost 30 years, Hazelwood owned the quilt store, Patches, in historic St. Charles.
