May Friendship Day of Church Women United will be held Tuesday, May 16, at the United Methodist Church, 848 West Main St. in Union.

It will begin with a friendship brunch at 9:30 a.m. Ladies of the United Methodist Church will be the hosts.

The theme, “Kindling New Fires of Love” (based on Luke 12:49), will be presented by Dr. Jennifer Hope. She will speak on her new “fire of love,” in establishing Hope Ranch. She is a former educator with the Union School District and has seen the needs of many children to have a safe and secure family life.

All church women and men are invited to attend. The program will be led by several women of member churches.

An offering, Fellowship of the Least Coin, will be dedicated, and the regular Friendship Day offering also will be received. The Valiant Church Woman award will be bestowed.

Following the brunch, there will be a board meeting of all representatives from churches.

Carol Gruber and Dorothy Clarkson are co-presidents of Church Women United.
