Longmeadow Rescue Ranch Will Hold Spring Fling April 12

Longmeadow Rescue Ranch in Union will hold a Spring Fling Family Fun day Saturday, April 12, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Visitors can get an up-close look at rescued and rehabilitated horses.

See the Parade of Longmeadow Rescue Ranch horses and hear their miraculous journey from abuse and neglect to rehabilitation and adoption

Watch professional riding demonstrations; tour the state-of-the-art horse and farm animal rehabilitation facility; take wagon rides through 165 acres of beautiful wooded, rolling hills; meet the world-famous Barn Buddies, including Calypso, the miniature horse, Juniper, the mini-donkey, Twister, the miracle horse, Wilma and Betty, Nubian goat sisters, and Walter, the potbellied pig.

Equine-related vendors will have booths set up, and attendance prizes will be given away.

Visitors can bring their own picnic lunch, or food and soft drinks will be available for purchase.

Personal pets are not allowed at the ranch.

There is a $5 admission charge for adults. Children ages 12 and under are free.

Nestled among 165 acres of woodland near Union, the Humane Society of Missouri’s Longmeadow Rescue Ranch is a haven for hundreds of abused and neglected horses, cows, goats, pigs, ducks and other farm animals. The Ranch is one of the most comprehensive horse and farm animal rescue, rehabilitation and adoption centers in the country.

In addition to animal care, ranch staff provide hands-on humane education experiences for both children and adults.

Longmeadow Rescue Ranch is also open to the public on Fridays from noon to 3 p.m. and Saturdays from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
