A new book by local artist Bryan Haynes will be released Oct. 1, published by Missouri Life Publisher.

In this beautiful coffee table book, “New Regionalism,” Haynes gives a chronological presentation of his art from the 1980s up to the present along with his narrative both in prose and in art describing the progression of his career.

In the chapter, “Rediscovery of the Landscape,” the artist and author says, “Here the northern edge of the Ozark Plateau folds as it bumps up against the Missouri River exposing creamy, white limestone bluffs edged with dark, black cedar. Already the armature of my artwork existed in this landscape — rhythmic undulations along with curves arching over horizontal lines — seemingly just waiting for interpretation.”

And interpret he does in this colorful and historical book.

“Bryan Haynes’ paintings of the Ozark landscape capture the essence of the region’s land, people, and history,” says Dan Burkhardt of the Ozark Regional Land Trust.

Book signings for “New Regionalism” are scheduled.

Watch The Missourian for more details or visit Haynes’ website, www.artbybryanhaynes.com, for updates.
