The classic Cole Porter musical “Anything Goes” will hit the East Central College stage Thursday evening, Feb. 20.
Performances are also set for Friday and Saturday, Feb. 21 and 22, at 8 p.m. each night. The production wraps up Sunday, Feb. 23, with a 2 p.m. performance.
Directed by Grace Austin with musical direction by Paula Nolley and choreography by Chris Page and Chad Greife, this tale features mistaken identity, star crossed lovers and tap dancing sailors.
The performance is heavy in tap dancing.
“Anything Goes” features more than 45 local performers. The leading cast includes ECC theater veterans Sarah Hopp as Reno Sweeny; Riley Dunn as Billy Crocker; Lee Garner as Lord Oakleigh; Carol Buescher as Mrs. Harcourt; Keith Goers as Mr. Whitney; and Chad Greife as Moonface Martin.
The leads are joined by ECC theater newcomers Kimmi Wibbenmeyer as Erma; Samantha Rogers as Hope Harcourt; and Lee Wehmeyer as the captain of the USS American.
Backing up the leads is a mix of veterans and newcomers led by Tara Steffens, Andrew Groom, Jimmi Wilson, Tim Culp, Trey Johnson, Erik Tucker, Holly Szakal, Trish Baker, Mary McLafferty;
Jeremy Bates, Jacob Schmidt, Alex Kammer, Jeff McLafferty, Devon Shipley, Katie O’Rear, Jake Schultz, Shane McDermott, Zach Gledhill and Rita Bub.
Other cast members include Amanda Reetz, Olivia Schmitt, Kayla Vondera, Haley Walter, Deborah Wiersma, Patty Kellmann, Heidi Nuckolls, Ethan Canby, Breanne Dengler, Ethan Fields;
Lexi Everhart, Miranda Ladymon, Sarah Marsch, Oriana Hogan, John Craig, Jacob Nelson, Caleb Sankey, Anna Smith and Scott Wetenhall.
The youngest passengers on the ship are played by Kathryn Dennigmann, Cree Marquart, Jacob Donnelly, Madeline Eckelkamp, Molly Eckelkamp, Libby Hillermann and Drew Post.
All performances will be presented in the John Edson Anglin Performing Arts Center on the ECC campus in Union.

Patrons of the Arts and season pass holders will be admitted at no charge, as will ECC students when presenting a current student ID.
Feb. 20 theater goers are encouraged to arrive early to attend the opening reception for the ECC Art Faculty exhibit, which will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. in the art gallery just off the theater lobby.
The exhibit will be open before and after all performances of the musical that weekend.
