Monica Alexandra Rueda-Santos and Gregory Jacob Koch, both of Overland Park, Kan., were united in marriage Saturday, July 13, 2013, at Grace Church in Overland Park. The Rev. David Watterson officiated at the noon double-ring ceremony.

Bride’s parents are Amparo Santos-Rodriguez and Camilo Rueda-Barrera of Bogota, Colombia. Groom’s parents are Marie and Dale Koch, New Haven.

Bride’s grandparents are Didima Rodriguez, Bogota, Colombia, the late Luis Daniel Santos and Araceli Barrera and the late Alvaro Rueda. Groom’s grandparents are the late Marguerite and Melvin Brandt and the late Odell and Harold Koch.

The bride was given in marriage by her mother.

Serving as matron of honor was Amparo Viscounte, Ambler, Pa., bride’s sister. Bridesmaids were Ingrid Caton, Overland Park, Kan., bride’s cousin, Kristen Marshall, Kansas City, groom’s sister, and Becky Buhr, New Haven, groom’s sister.

Best man was Travis Forbes, Austin, Texas. Groomsmen were Matthew Russell, Overland Park, Kan., Jon Witte, New Haven, and Vaughn McCallum, Overland Park, Kan.

Flower girls were Emma Marshall, Kansas City, groom’s niece and godchild, and Amelia Caton, Overland Park, Kan., bride’s cousin and godchild.

A dinner reception was held at St. Andrew’s Golf Course, Overland Park, Kan.

The bride is a graduate of Marillac High School, Bogota, Colombia. She received a Bachelor of Science degree in bacteriology from the University of the Andes in Colombia, a diplomate in blood banking/transfusion from the El Bosque University in Colombia and a Master of Science degree in biology from Wichita State University, Wichita, Kan. She is employed as a research scientist at ViraCor-IBT Laboratories, Lee’s Summit.

The groom is a graduate of New Haven High School. He received Bachelor of Science degrees in electrical engineering and computer engineering from the University of Missouri-Columbia and is employed as a software engineer on the Marine autopilots team at Garmin, Olathe, Kan.

After a wedding trip to Colorado, the couple reside in Overland Park, Kan.
