Amber Nicole Riechers, Washington, and Christopher Aaron Sumner, Peculiar, were united in marriage Dec. 28, 2013, at Riverbend Chapel. Tyler Tankersley officiated at the 5 p.m. ceremony.

The bride’s parents are Dr. Thomas and Karen Riechers. Groom’s parents are Patrick and Donna Sumner.

Bride was given in marriage by her father.

Serving as maid of honor was Molly Akin, Columbia. Bridesmaids were Ashton Wells, Kansas City, Alejandra Galbraith, Washington, Natalie Monzyk, Springfield, and Allison O’Leary, Liberty.

Best man was Nathan Graber, Liberty. Groomsmen were Michael Friesen, Omaha, Neb., Matthew Lamar, Des Moines, Iowa, Joseph Buhlig, Liberty, and Joshua Riechers, Washington.

Flower girl was Amelia Craig, Washington. Ring bearer was Trenton Sumner, Peculiar.

Ushers were Matt Sumner and Mark Buhlig.

Music for the ceremony was provided by Jordan Groves, guitar, Charles Tolbert, piano, Nathan Graber and Kendra Weatherford, vocals, and Joshua Knight, drums.

A reception was held at Riverbend Chapel with music/entertainment provided by Allegro Entertainment.

The bride has a Bachelor of Arts in English and education from William Jewell College.

The groom has a Bachelor of Arts in biochemistry from William Jewell College. He is employed as a chemist at Mallinckrodt Pharmaceuticals.

After a wedding trip to Cabo San Lucas, the couple reside in Washington.
