Christy Straatmann and Todd Hefele were united in marriage June 21, 2013, at St. Gerard Magella Church of Kirkwood. Father Thomas Molini officiated at the double-ring ceremony.

Bride’s parents are Karen and Dale Straatmann, Washington. Groom’s parents are Diane and John Hefele, Kirkwood.

The bride was given in marriage by her father.

Serving as maid of honor was Maryanne Souris. Matron of honor was Jill Scrutchfield, bride’s sister. Bridesmaids were Lori Morris, bride’s cousin, and Mary Beth Schwartz.

Best man was Ryan Hefele, groom’s brother. Groomsmen were Travis Straatmann, bride’s brother, John O’Sullivan, and Scott Wehnes.

Flower girls were Kinsey and Jovie Scrutchfield, bride’s nieces. Ring bearer was Adam Zerega, groom’s nephew.

A dinner and reception was held at Andre’s West, Fenton.

The bride is a graduate of St. Francis Borgia Regional High School and Truman State University. She is employed as a seventh-grade science teacher at Valley Park Middle School.

The groom is a graduate of CBC High School and the University of Missouri-Columbia. He is employed as a police officer for the city of St. Louis.

After a wedding trip to Belize, the couple reside in Fenton.
