Meyer 50th Wedding Anniversary
George J. and Joan Meyer, Washington, observed their 50th wedding anniversary Saturday, Oct. 6, 2012, with a Mass of thanksgiving at St. Francis Borgia Church, Washington, followed by a family dinner.
Mr. Meyer and the former Miss Ley were united in marriage Saturday, Oct. 6, 1962, at St. John’s-Gildehaus Church, Villa Ridge. Officiating at the ceremony were the late Monsignor George Hildner, the late Monsignor George Kurtz and the Rev. John Hallemann, Kirkwood.
The couple’s children and their spouses honored the couple with a dinner party for family and friends Sunday, Sept. 30, at the lower level of the Elks Hall, Washington. The couple also enjoyed a summer trip to Alaska with family.
Children of the couple are George R. Meyer and wife Dana, Jon Meyer and wife Peggy, Nanci Simmons and husband Dr. John, Greg Meyer and wife Katie, all of Washington, and Gina Threlkeld and husband Dr. Kevin, Clayton.
The 12 grandchildren of the couple are Jon “Jake,” Alex, Tyler, George W., Ben, Max, Alli and Eric Meyer, Kelsey Laymon, and Reagan, Madison and Noah Simmons, all of Washington.
