Abby Marie Rufkahr and Matthew Holen Feldman, both of Kansas City, were united in marriage Dec. 31, 2011, at the Unity Temple on the Plaza, Kansas City. The Rev. Duke Tufty officiated at the ceremony.

Bride’s parents are Michael and Pamela Rufkahr, Washington. Groom’s parents are Marvin and Patricia Feldman, Overland Park, Kan.

The bride was given in marriage by her parents.

Serving as maid of honor was Brittany Stieffermann, Washington. Bridesmaids were Lucy Rufkahr and Jaime Rufkahr, both of Washington, bride’s sisters, Eva Phillip, Denver, Colo., Jess Sztaimberg, Boston, Mass., Katie Paro, Charlotte, N.C., Stacey Wells, Omaha, Neb., and Courtney Osterholm, Chicago, Ill., both groom’s cousins.

Best man was Andrew Viebrock, Miami, Fla. Groomsmen were Jason Rufkahr, Washington, bride’s brother, T.J. DeGroot, Pittsburg, Kan., Sam Feldman, Kansas City, groom’s cousin, Mitch Harrison, Olathe, Kan., Craig Nelson, Kansas City, Lucas Schwaller, Chicago, Ill., and Patrick Atchity, Kansas City.

Flower girl was Avery Wells, Omaha, Neb., groom’s cousin. Ring bearer was Lucas Rufkahr, Washington, bride’s nephew.

Ushers were Harold Meyer and Albert Meyer, both of St. Louis, bride’s cousins.

A reception of dinner, drinks and dancing was held at the Vox Theatre, a newly renovated event space in Kansas City, Kan., that began as a silent movie theater in the 1920s.

The bride is a 2004 graduate of Washington High School, attended Macquarie University in New South Wales, Australia, in 2005, Rockhurst University in 2006, and the University of Missouri–Kansas City (UMKC) in 2007. She graduated from UMKC in 2009 with a Bachelor of Art degree in studio art with an emphasis in graphic design. Currently, she is the graphic designer for the Kansas City Jewish Museum of Contemporary Art, Overland Park, Kan., and the Charlotte Street Foundation, Kansas City, as well as a freelance graphic designer for local and regional businesses.

The groom is a 2002 graduate of Olathe East High School and attended the University of Kansas in 2002. He graduated in 2007 with a Bachelor of Art and Science in communications with an emphasis in abnormal psychology. Currently, he is a senior account manager for Freightquote.com, Lenexa, Kan.

After a wedding trip to Cancún, Mexico, the couple reside in downtown Kansas City.
