Local artists Michael Bauermeister, Augusta, and Tony Cray, New Melle, will be among the more than 180 artists from around the world taking part in the 17th annual Saint Louis Art Fair to be held Sept. 10-12 in downtown Clayton.
Hours are Friday, 5 to 10 p.m.; Saturday, 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.; and Sunday, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Artists included in the fair were selected from 1,400 applications.
Fourteen mediums of art will be represented at the fair, including ceramics, drawing and pastels, glass, metalwork, photography, sculpture, two- and three- dimensional mixed media, wood, jewelry, sculpture, fiber and painting and digital art.
Bauermeister is a wood sculptor, and Cray is a glass blower.
Ranked second in the ArtFair SourceBook's ranking of Top Fine Art Events for 2010, the St. Louis Art Fair draws more than 100,000 visitors every year.
The event will offer more than just great art. Creative Castle, located on South Central Avenue just north of the intersection of Central and Carondelet, will feature more than a dozen craft projects for kids.
The Art Studio, located on North Meramec just north of Forsyth, will feature fashion shows, a cash bar, food and art projects to let adults show their creativity.
Three performance stages will feature music, dance and theater ensembles. And several of St. Louis' best restaurants will please the palates of hungry Art Fair visitors.
