The city of Washington’s Recycle Center will be getting a new skid-steer loader.
The council approved the purchase of a new S740 T4 Bobcat Skid-Steer Loader at Monday’s meeting.
The skid loader will cost $45,775.68 — well under the $70,000 in the budget.
The skid loader will be purchased from Clark Equipment, Wells Fargo, N.D., through the state of Missouri contract.
Once it arrives, the new skid loader will replace an older piece of equipment at the recycle center.
In a letter to the council, Street Superintendent Tony Bonastia said the current 2002 skid loader is becoming outdated and overworked.
The replacement model, with options, actually costs $53,775.68. The city will save $8,000 by trading in the 2002 model.
The city council unanimously approved the contract.
