The Washington City Council Monday evening approved a contract with the firm SCS Engineers to perform groundwater monitoring services at the city landfill.

The city agreed to pay the company $21,500 to take samples and perform testing at the landfill on Bluff Road this November and May 2018.

The city is required by the Missouri Department of Natural Resources to test the background groundwater data every two years to be updated. The city has used SCS Engineers in the past to perform the tests.
