Be a ghost hunter for the night while searching for the unknown during the first ever public paranormal investigation of the historic and haunted Tri-County Restaurant & Truck Stop in Villa Ridge, MO (about 40 miles west of St. Louis right off of Hwy 44) with team members of Paranormal Task Force.
Tri-County Truck Stop has been featured on SyFy’s “Fact or Faked: Paranormal Files” segment “Truck Stop Terror”, Fox 2 News, The Missourian newspaper and in several books. Paranormal Task Force has been featured in Spooked Television’s (Booth Brothers) documentaries “Children of the Grave” (aired on SyFy and Chiller), “The Haunted Boy: the Secret Diary of the Exorcist” and “Children of the Grave 2” (both airing in the near future). Also featured in Paranormal TV’s miniseries “Haunt U” via Comcast on Demand, SyFy’s “Fact or Faked: Paranormal Files” segment “Truck Stop Terror” and filmed for an episode of the History Channels new series “Sold!”.
This once Route 66 roadside icon formerly known as “The Diamonds” Restaurant has had its share of tragic moments throughout its past. Started by a young law student with ambitions and dreams as a roadside stand selling plums in the early 1900’s, it grew to being the world’s largest roadside restaurant in its heyday. The current building, built in 1950 after the previous building burnt to the ground in the late 1940’s, became the Tri-County Restaurant and Truck Stop in 1970 after “The Diamonds” relocated to be nearer to the newly opened Interstate Highway.
Before closing its doors to the public in September of 2006, employees and customers alike were experiencing a plethora of paranormal activity. Such experiences and reports included full-bodied apparitions, eerie shadow figures, objects levitating from one table to another, kitchen appliances turned off and on, people touched by unseen forces, children reporting seeing a monster on the stairway, disembodied voices and so much more. Paranormal Task Force (formerly Missouri Paranormal Research) investigations of 2006 yielded some of the most phenomenal visual and audible captures to date, validating both employee and customer experiences at this spine-chilling location.
