Cedar Lake Cellars, a year-round winery and event venue, will hold its first Mardi Gras celebration on Fri., Feb. 24 through Sun., Feb. 26 from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m.  The winery, which is open to those 21 years and older, is located at 11008 Schreckengast Rd. in Wright City, Mo.

 

The weekend-long celebration includes a variety of traditional Southern fare including red beans and rice, Cajun jambalaya, whole crawfish, seafood gumbo, po’ boy sandwiches, a King cake, and special Cedar Lake Cellars’ hurricane drinks.  The Mardi Gras-themed menu will be served at both the full service dining room and Lakeside Grille. 

 

A Creole brunch on Sunday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. will include shrimp and grits, blackened chicken, Cajun jambalaya, seafood gumbo, Southern green beans, and traditional brunch favorites.

 

Cedar Lake Cellars is open year-found Fri. through Sun. from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. for those 21 and older with live music scheduled throughout the weekend.  The restaurant seats 90 indoor and 120 patio diners with a wine far that features 15 Cedar Lake Cellars wines, 3 Swans handcrafted wines from the West Coast, 25 wines of the world, craft and domestic beers, and signature wine slushies.
