Washington Public and Scenic Regional Libraries are abuzz with activities. The sign-up for summer reading programs for children, “Fizz Boom Read” continue. Additionally, there are numerous book club meetings and presentations for adults.
Next Monday, June 16, at 7 p.m. the Literary Classics Book Group at Washington Public Library will discuss “The Birds,” by Aristophanes.And on June 18, at 7 p.m., the Wednesday Evening Book Group will focus their book discussion on “Abraham: A Journey to the Heart of Three Faiths,” by Bruce Feller.
Scenic Regional Library’s B.A.C.H. Book Group will feature “A Thousand Splendid Suns,” by Khaled Hosseini. The group meets at 7 p.m. on June 19, at the Union branch. For more information contact Diane Disbro, 636-583-3224.
Scenic Regional Library’s New Haven Branch is taking reservations for “If It Looks Like a Man: Gender Identity, Female Soldiers and Lady Bushwackers in the Civil War.” Historian/author Diane Eickhoff will present on the topic next Thursday, June 19, at 7 p.m. at the Old New Haven School, 810 Maupin, New Haven.
