Annually, independent booksellers nationwide chose their favorite books for children and adults. The Indie Choice Book Award winners, and E.B White Read-Aloud Award winners, were announced last week by the American Booksellers Association. In late May, the authors will be honored at Book Expo America, which will be held in New York City.

Two Book Buzz Picks netted accolades with the booksellers. The E.B. White Read-Aloud Picture Book Award went to “The Day the Crayon’s Quit,” by Drew Daywelt, with illustrations by Oliver Jeffers. The E.B. White Read-Aloud Middle Reader went to “Flora and Ulysses,” by Kate DiCamillo, illustrated by K.B. Campbell.
