Everything will be coming up polka dots and apple pie this week when author/illustrator Mike Curato returns to Washington for a book signing.
Curato, whose new book, “Little Elliot, Fall Friends,” is a Sept. Baby Buzz Pick, will be at Neighborhood Reads Bookstore in Downtown Washington, this Thursday, September 14, from 4:30 – 7:30 p.m. A special presentation will take place at 5:30 p.m.
In September 2014, Curato visited Washington with his debut “Elliot” book, “Little Elliot, Big City,” published in 2014, the first in a series to feature the charming pastel-spotted pachyderm that has a passion for cupcakes. In his newest adventure, Elliot’s sweet tooth is satisfied with apple pie to go along with the book’s fall theme. To date, Curato has authored four "Little Elliot" books and more are on the way.
The past year has been big-time busy for the Brooklyn author/illustrator. Last month, two of his books were published, “Little Elliot, Fall Friends,” the fourth in the series, and “All the Way to Havana,” written by Cuba-born author Margarita Engle and illustrated by Curato. “Worm Loves Worm,” another Curato picture book was published in January 2016.
Copies of Curato’s books will be available for purchase at Neighborhood Reads.
