Council Races in Two City Wards
A second race has developed for Washington City Council seats that will be on the Tuesday, April 2, 2013, election ballot.
Wednesday, Connie Groff filed for re-election to her Ward 3 council seat. She will face opponent Jeffrey A. Patke in the race for the two-year term.
The other race so far pits incumbent Ward 1 Councilman Walt Meyer against Tom Coulter.
Two other incumbents — Jeff Mohesky, Ward 2, and Joe Holtmeier, Ward 4 — have filed for re-election and had no opposition as The Missourian was going to press Thursday.
Greg Skornia is the only candidate to file for a one-year unexpired term of Tim Brinker who resigned. Brinker was elected First District county commissioner and took the oath of office Friday.
The deadline for candidates to file for municipal offices is Tuesday, Jan. 15, 2013.
The last day to register to vote in the April election is March 6, 2013.
