Authorities recovered the body of Scott A. Shockley, 48, of Chamois, Monday afternoon in the Berger Creek area.

The Missouri Highway Patrol's Water Patrol Division searched Monday for the body of the Gasconade County man who drowned Sunday morning on the Missouri River.

Shockley was running a trotline on the Missouri River in the Berger area about 7:30 a.m. Sunday, according to the preliminary patrol report.

While he was holding onto the line, the boat swung around into the current and Shockley was knocked out of the boat, the patrol reported.

The incident happened at the 93.5-mile marker on the river, the patrol said.
