St. Clair Fire Protection District firefighters as well as personnel from surrounding departments battled a large brush fire Monday morning on Oklahoma School Road south of the city.

At least one structure was leveled by the fire, which burned for about 90 minutes before it was contained and deemed under control.

It is believed the structure was a barn or some type of storage building.

Firefighters first were dispatched to 3355 Oklahoma School Road shortly after 10 a.m. for a residential and brush fire.

Several acres burned before the fire was under control.

There were no reports of injuries.

See Wednesday's Missourian for additional information.
