Senior Katie Lindemann did everything possible to make sure the Borgia Lady Knights (2-1, 1-0) earned a victory in their first-ever Archdiocesan Athletic Association game Friday at DuBourg, 58-34.
Lindemann scored 32 points for the Lady Knights with nine rebounds and two steals.
“DuBourg did a great job of taking Janie Arand out of the game early, but they could not stop Katie Lindemann,” Borgia Head Coach Stacia Parsell said. “She is very strong and understood what we needed from her. Katie has emerged as an inside threat.”
Arand was next in scoring with 13 points while also recording five rebounds, three assists and a steal.
Parsell indicated that others played roles in Lindemann’s finishing around the basket.
“Emily Grahl also benefited from Lindemann’s performance by handing out 10 assists,” Parsell said.
Grahl also scored eight points with five steals and two rebounds.
Molly Arand scored three points with four steals, one assist and one rebound. Morgan Spradling had two points, nine rebounds, one assist and one steal.
Also playing were Baylee Godat (one rebound) and Madison Wehking.
“We still have not put together a complete game,” said Parsell. “We did show some improvement.”
On Thursday, Duchesne visits Borgia with JV action starting at 5:30 p.m.
Borgia’s final action of the 2012 portion of the season will be at the Sullivan Tournament. The Lady Knights are seeded fourth and will open play at 4 p.m. next Monday against Washington.
