The St. Clair R-XIII School District will conduct its high school graduation on Thursday night as scheduled, the district office stated earlier in the day.
Because of the threat of rain and thunderstorms, district officials had said there was a possibility of delaying the ceremony until Friday. But a telephone blast issued by Assistant Superintendent Mark Denbow at about 11:30 a.m. said that commencement exercises will begin at 8 p.m. Thursday.
The graduation ceremony is scheduled to take place outside on the SCHS athletic field. If inclement weather is in the area this evening, the ceremony could be moved inside to the gymnasium.
In all, about 150 seniors are expected to receive diplomas.
Doors will open at 6 p.m. Seating is on a first-come, first-serve basis.
